Rick has been making gold leaf frames since the 1980s. He apprenticed in Boston with a prominent Master Gilder and then worked making gold leaf frames for companies around the country. In 1992 he established a gold leaf studio where he received commissions for custom gold leaf frames and architectural gold leaf work. He has been making gold leaf frames for Sarah Balinskas since 1992 and joined the Sarah Balinskas Fine Framing team in 2015. A lover of international travel, he ventured to St. Petersburg, Russia to visit the State Hermitage Museum; naturally, gold leaf was the major attraction. He collects vintage sunglasses. Rick is cool.
